I Believe I Can

I Believe I Can
I believe I can change the world. I believe I can make a difference in people. I believe that if I make a difference in myself, I am changing the world. I believe that if I get into more leadership positions in the class room, athletic field or my community – it could help me become a better leader. Which then I can accomplish something truly meaningful by changing the world. I believe in myself, what do you believe in?

I need your help, it starts with you! You are my hero, the one that gives me guidance when I need it the most. You are the one that I can say helped me along the way. You are the one that showed me that it was okay to not blend in with the others.

You are the one that showed me how to believe in myself. You are also the one that said not to believe everything I see on TV - nor what I read in magazines. It was also you that taught me right from wrong.

Here are some things I’ll need you to do. When I begin to make choices, help me make better ones. As I start to explore give me boundaries, to keep me safe. And when my self-esteem seems to be low give me words of encouragement. And last but not least help me to continue to first love myself, which would help me to love others. I don’t think that I am living up to my full potential and will need support from everyone.

I believe that if we all pull together we can encourage more girls around the world to help change the world. This includes teachers, family members, community, friends, media and celebrities. With your help I can achieve everything. I won’t always need it, but because you understand the world better than I can your guidance, encouragement and support is needed. After all our generation is the next to lead and I’m ready, are you?

I believe that we can all make a difference in each other as well as girls - if we work together to encourage. Together we can make a better world. Even, if it’s making a difference in ourselves. I believe, do you?
